DITTO!!! I tried to explain that to the guy at the Alltel (or as I call them AllFAIL 'cause they suck!) store & he kept repeating "You don't want to text message?" me - "No" him - "You don't want to play games?" me - "NO" him - "You don't want to have independent ring tones for up to 100 callers" me - "NO!"
I want my phone to ring so I can answer it; store contact numbers; and allow me to place phone calls... PERIOD.
Of course they don't make those simple phones so I got as basic as I could. I don't even know how to text, yet there always appears one or two 10c charges on my phone list for text messages

I called to get them to disable the feature but for some reason they can't do that

If I didn't have 1100 anytime minutes for $39.95/month plus unlimited nights & weekends, then I would switch. Unfortunately, nothing out there comes close to that offer (and we don't have TMobile in my area). I would switch to Verizon if nothing else b/c the hubby & all of my family are on Verizon - but for $40 a month, I think that gets me around 300 anytime minutes which isn't nearly enough. I do well to stay within my 1100 minutes
