The guidelines for rush were fairly vague but I had a great Rho Chi who helped clarify and even offered to come to your dorm and help you sort through your clothes for the right outfit. I think the main thing would be dress weather appropriate for your school. At Illinois it's august and usually scorching and not all houses have air conditioning. If a school is in the winter there's no shame in keeping warm.
