Kappa Phi Theta Fraternity bears the distinction of being the only fraternity founded at RIT. They are also the only local fraternity at the
Rochester Institute of Technology .

"The purpose of this organization is to provide educational, social, intellectual leadership and cultural enhancement for its members. Kappa Phi Theta provides opportunities for brotherhood and fellowship while encouraging political, cultural and scholastic achievements."
Kappa Phi Theta's emphasis is on promoting confidence and leadership especially among deaf individuals:
