Not quite. It was in vitro fertilization. So instead of twins not splitting, instead the two fertilized eggs merged. They then induce a hallucination to figure out where in the brain the "alien" DNA (his fraternal twin) was... DURING brain surgery.
In the end, YAY kid all better.
And I think Cuddy is soooooo knocked up.
