We had a transfer affiliate with my chapter last spring. She was from Murray State (KY).
She wasn't required to, but she contacted us the fall semester (when she arrived at KSU) before she planned to affiliate so she could get to know the chapter and make friends with us before she officially affiliated in the spring.
So by the time we oficially accepted her as a transfer at the beginning of spring semester, she was already familiar with us and she fit right in.
