Not AOII but...
one of our sisters lavaliered her boyfriend (later fiance/hubby) because he wasn't in a fraternity and therefore couldn't lavalier her.
He was very close friends with many of the sisters and loved the idea and no one had a problem with it. If he'd been just a "regular" boyfriend I don't know how it would have gone over, but he was around more than some sisters were.
