I MET HIM!!! No lie!! He passed the flame to a ZTA alumna from Brenau University, whose daughter is a recent ZTA alumna from Clemson University. I heard all about Jack McKenzie and how a student nominated him. The onlookers had soo many wonderful things to say about him, and plenty of time to say it - the flame was nearly an hour and a half late. I took a picture with the ZTA alumna, her daughter, and a few of my sisters. We also hope to send it to our national magazine for a great story like y'all's.
Mrs. Abercrombie, the ZTA alumna, has been battling melanoma and was an absolutely radiant torch bearer. It was great to meet Mr. McKenzie, as well, and hear so many great things about an APO alumnus. I was wondering why so many APO's were there wearing their letters - I didn't even think to ask!!
It was such a memorable experience for me and everyone else there! So congratulations, APO and ZTA!!
