Tonight is Pref night. My daughter got cut today from one of her top 2 sororities. She really likes the remaining sorority, but is fearful that she will not receive a bid from it tomorrow.

To complicate matters, my daughter is a sophmore and got cut today from a sorority where she has many close friends.

I would appreciate any advice you might have to:
1. advise me on how to help my daughter to not feel badly aand to take it personally that she did not receive an invitation to go back on Pref night to a sorority that the majority of her close friends are in
2. and advise me on how to help her if indeed she does not receive a bid from her remaining sorority. She really, really loves the remaining sorority and is very fearful that she will be cut from that too. She is feeling pretty low and scared tonight over tomorrow.

Thanks so much for starting this thread.
Be sure to let your daughter know that if she is not offered a bid, there is still always later on in the year, or next year, for her to be offered a bid from that chapter. Sometimes it is difficult for the sisters to get to know all of the ladies going through recruitment. Also, let her know that the reasons for her being "cut" from the other sorority was most likely not anything personal, and that she should not be hurt. No matter how many sisters a pnm might know, there might always be a few sisters that she doesn't know, and that can make ALL the difference. Good luck to your daughter!!! I'm sure she will join the right house!!!
