My mother is always "saving stuh". She still has many of my dolls and my sister's dolls (60's and 70'). I still have my Cabbage Patches.
She has our "tin" lunch boxes and other stuff.
I've found myself buying things that will probably be worth $$$$ LONG after I"m gone. As an example, I bought both of my nieces the Barbie Millennium Doll. They have kept them in the box (they have not opened them). Hopefully, it will be worth $$$ when they are grown and have kids.

(I should have bought one for myself, now that I'm thinking about it!)
NOTE: Items in their original packaging are worth MORE $$$.
