I'll post my opinions on it, I just want to see what you all think first.
My Sands and I celebrated our 15th anniversary 4-8-1991 to 4-8-2006, and it's hard for me to say if things have changed. At least at our undergrad chapter tradition still lives on. I'm not sure if other chapters are pledging the same or not. I think a lot of greeks are getting into their organizations at some schools witout an actual pledge process because of the strict hazing laws. Nothing against greeks that get in that way, but I think it takes away a lot of great things to talk about with other greeks who had an actual pledge process. I pledged for 16 weeks which more than likely wouldn't go on today. I think things would be a lot better if pledging was still legal and was done above ground. I'm fortunate to say I saw the line before me pledge above ground. Pretty much all of the GLO in the Divine Nine pledged above ground then. I had never seen anything like it. I think non greeks who want to be greek are missing out on this. I think Greek life would be so much better with it. If anyone is interested you can see the lines at my chapter. Go to search and type in Kappa Alpha Psi Delta Zeta Chapter and click on the "Lineage" tab.
