It's so interesting to do in intentionally though...we always had a saying at my alma mater that it only took one good/bad rush to change a chapter for the next few years.

Oh I TOTALLY agree with this. I am a firm believer (though I know a few who disagree) that a sorority's success in all aspects ultimately goes back to recruitment.
If you recruit poopy PNM's(grade risks, behavior risk, will take a bid from anyone for the sake of just being greek, only joining to have something on their resume, etc) you'll start the trend of a poopy chapter over the next few years and then spend the next few years getting out of the funk and getting back to the top. I've seen this happen with several chapters on several campuses close to me.
