He was instrumental in spreading the word of Delta Gamma and getting many DG chapters established. However, even though he was a Phi Delta Theta, Phi Delta Theta is not considered our brother fraternity, but Georga Banta is highly regarded and Delta Gamma owes much to him! Of course, he had daughters and grand-daughters, and they were all DELTA GAMMAS!!!

More on this interesting bit of history: That one male initiated at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, home of the Alpha Zeta (?)chapter of Delta Gamma. The Banta family has a long history with the school, and the football stadium is named after them (the Banta Bowl). Not all of his descendants went DG, however, one who rushed while I was a sophomore decided to join Theta.
It's amazing what you learn serving as a Rho Chi (yes, at Lawrence University).
