I am not a Kappa, but I can probably provide some helpful advice.

1) Nothing is guaranteed. Therefore, having a screen name such as yours and using language such as "Not a Kappa, yet" are presumptuous at best and not respectful at worst.

2) Discretion is key. Your interest in any Greek lettered organization should be something you share only with the people who matter -- usually the members of the chapter you'd like to be a member of and members of the organization who are in your family.

3) Both Kappa and Alpha discontinued honorary memberships decades and decades ago. While I wasn't there when the decisions were made, I believe that great men are attracted to both organizations. If a man has Kappa or Alpha in his heart, then he will express his interest to the right people.

And as great as Will Smith or Nelly might be, in your opinion, neither of them have college degrees and aren't eligible for membership in a fraternity.

However, in your quest, perhaps you could focus on the prominent members of the org you're pursuing who might not have international fame -- the Kappa down the street who volunteers at the soup kitchen every week.... the Kappa who runs the after school program....the deacons of your church... etc....

Black fraternities do great things every day, with or without honorary members.
