Round One day 2
I just got in touch with my friend. She pretty much passed out after her second day. She said she had a blast though. She went to 7 houses today. This is what she thought of them (in order of preference).
Lucille Ball - This is a house my friend has been interested in since the beginning of recruitment. As of now, this is her top choice. She said all the girls were very friendly, and she felt a bond with them. I really hope she will get invited back to visit them.
Doris Day - This is a house my friend did not know much about before recruitment, and was very pleasantly surprised about today. She said each girl was very sweet and welcoming. She also liked the way these sisters interacted with eachother.
Elizabeth Taylor - Although my friend really enjoyed her time at this house, and had a lot of fun with all the girls she talked too, she's not sure if she would fit in at this house. She is hoping to go back and see if she feels more at home here next time.
Mary Tyler Moore - This is another house my friend wasn't expecting much from, but she really loved it. Just goes to show you, reputations don't mean much in the sorority world. She said the girls were all really excited and happy to see her. She is really hoping to go back.
Audrey Hepburn - Although she was really expecting to love this house, she is not sure if this is the right home for her. She said the house and girls were all beautiful and that she felt very welcome here, however she is not sure that she can see herself as a part of their sisterhood. She would like to go back and meet some more of the sisters.
Marilyn Monroe - My friend already knew a few girls in this house before recruitment. Although she was friends with them in high school, she is not sure if she can see herself as their sister. She said that the girls at this house were very energetic and seemed excited about their philanthropy.
Donna Reed - My friend told me that this house was fun, but didn't stand out as a strong connection in her mind. She said the girls were all gorgeous and so nice, but she doesn't feel like this could be a home for her. However, she understands 20 minutes isn't much time to make a connection, and would accept an opportunity to return.
All in all a good day for her. She finds out which houses she goes back to tomorrow morning. It is possible to return to 12, but not many girls get this opportunity. I'm so glad she's having a fun time. I'm a little worried about the cuts tomorrow, I know they will be pretty severe. She is such a strong and confident girl and I know she will take it all in stride. I'm so excited for her, and I know wherever she ends up will be a great home for her. For anyone else rushing at UGA - best of luck tomorrow. Hang in there, when you see all your sisters welcoming you with open arms and cheering on bid day, you will know it was all worth it.
Hope everyone is doing well. I will try to update tomorrow when I hear back.
