I agree with everyone that if they are members of a league that is sponsored by a D9 fraternity/sorority, they shouldn't be doing that at all. I thougth the first pic of the Delta Teens was nice, but the second one was a little too close for confort. I'm not even going to go on the wannabe AKAs and Kappas.
But elemulating the D9 groups is not new where I come from. I went to a all-black high school where there were "fraternities" and "sororities". The had names that may have had either one greek letter (ex. Omega Fly Brothers) or none at all (ex. US Classy Queens). All they did was hang out with each other, had little step shows and probates on the courtyard, and wore matching t-shirts. They also had a little "pledging" period, in which my day it was praticing the step routine, having them line up on the courtyard and doing certain stunts (seremating was one I remember one of my classmates doing and another one where a big person had to roll himself down the street). THEY WERE NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY D9 GROUP.
Some of there groups have faded away, but some (like the two I mentioned) are still at my high school. My cousin, who goes to the same high school now, is a US Classy Queen. But times have changed. They do go around other high schools and the community to step competitons. But let me give you one example on how things changed. My cousin (the one mentioned) was given a suprise Sweet 16 in December. A song came on and the boys starting party hopping and throwing up hooks. At first I was like WTF? Then it dawned on me that they are Omega Fly Brothers. My uncle, who is an Omega, got a kick out of it. I know some may not understand why I didn't hem them up, but also going to that school made me understand why they were doing it.
ETA: The Omega Fly Brothers do have a group page on MySpace.
