Yeah, it really is different when you're down at the focal point of the noise.

The other thing I didn't mention about decked stadiums is the immediate reverberation added to the closeness of the fans.

ETA, Ohio Stadium has gotten even more interesting since they closed in the South end a few years ago (you may recall that is used to called "The Old Horseshoe," and there were only bleachers in the South end.)

That Texas game was outstanding -- although I only to to see it on TV, unfortunately.
