That said, once they are in the fraternity, the philanthropy does end up becoming important to them - but it is not a deciding factor for the most part.

"Right" reasons why we went Greek: What we tell others (for the most part)
"Wrong" reasons why we went Greek: What we really feel
But I think you're right about people
staying Greek for less selfish reasons.
