I've been on Alesse (and recently the generic version of it) for almost 5 years, so it's hard for me to tell what's "normal" for me and what is a side effect of the pill. I had really serious (unrelated) medical problems at appx the same time and started another medication that I am also still on.
I've recently been thinking about switching pills to see if anything changes, but I'm getting ready to start law school in a month and I'm afraid that it could cause big problems that I wouldn't want to deal with at that time. I am thinking about possibly making a switch over winter break after my first semester.
How long did it take your body to adjust to the new pill? If you were on Alesse did you notice any side effects? Did switching help?

I loved Alesse, but it wasn't formulary and expensive, and I'm allergic to the generic form. I switched to Levlen (Yasmin) about a year ago and the only thing I've had problems with were my cycles started a day later (and were shorter!) and at the risk of being TMI, the "dried out" side affect seems to be a bit more noticable. But I can't go off of a lo-dose pill because of my diabetes, so the docs gave me other ideas. But that's the only real change I've experienced.
But why change a good thing? If you love Alesse, why switch?
