While I do think it's silly that so many young people (Mimi, Belle, Carrie) are having trouble conceiving, the individual scenarios aren't totally unrealistic. As in Mimi's case, it's not terribly uncommon for women to become infertile after having an abortion. As for Belle, well Phillip has low sperm motility, which isn't that terribly uncommon either. And then Hope... if you knew my in-laws you'd know that some people are just really fertile. And while the odds of birth defects do go way up after age 35 it definitely isn't impossible for a woman to have a normal child. My mother-in-law was at least 40 when she had her 11th and last child, and he's normal. But I see what you're saying. Many of the Days storylines are just plain dumb.
