At UF (University of Florida
) we pay our SG prez too. Not a whole lot though - I think $5000. If I remember right, VP and Treasurer get $ too. The theory is that they don't have time for a part time job and that position and school.
But the annoying thing is that our student body president for the last few years has almost always been some (geez I HATE to say this but it's TRUE) perfect stereotype of a "frat guy." i.e. financially secure.
Our current Prez drives a black Porsche.
And he needs SG money?
That's also the same Porsche that he got pulled over in a couple months ago, then FELL OUT when the cop opened the door.
You take your guess on the Breathalyzer result. He has a very good attorney (friend of daddy's) and somehow everything was magically ok and he's still in office. Way to be a role model, yeah!
My daddy teaches at a public middle school. Somehow I doubt my experience would be the same if I tried to pull that stunt.
