· Philadelphia Welcomes the Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. – For the first time since 1921, Philadelphia will welcome the Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Inc. for their 48th National Convention from July 27-August 3 . This biannual convention will bring 16,000 women to the city, resulting in more than $20 million in economic impact to the region. It is Philadelphia’s largest multicultural convention of the year. Adorned with their sorority colors of red and white, conference attendees will focus on social action, economic development, and women’s health and wellness issues. Notable Deltas include the late Shirley Chisholm, Aretha Franklin, Cicely Tyson, The Cosby Show's Keshia Knight Pulliam, Miss Americas Erica Dunlap and Kimberly Aiken Cockerham, Lena Horne, Dorothy I. Height, PhD, Camille Cosby, among many others.
