If a PNM skips a party, with no bona fide excuse, they really make themselves look bad. Sorority women talk to each other, particularly during recruitment. Also, sometimes skipping a party unexcused, particularly in first round, can cause a PNM to be dropped from recruitment outright.
Even girls who pledged one house the year before and dropped and who are going through rush again have to go to that house during recruitment. I'm assuming that's what you're alluding to.
You have no obligation to keep a group and return after first round, but you must visit them all during first round, or else the point of it flies out the window. No one is going to say or do anything to you. It's kind of almost impossible to have a "bad time" at a recruitment party- everything is happy and cheerful and fun If a PNM says they had a bad time at a recruitment party (and nothing disasterous happened like them spilling fruit punch on a white carpet!), I immediately question whether that PNM is the kind of woman I would want in my sorority. If you can't make it through one 20 minute party...
Note: the word "you" here is used a general sense, not applying to you, OP. But I do suspect that OP is talking about skipping the house that they had depledged.
