The quoted article from the People web site says ""What you don't know is that my contract was not renewed for the tenth season," she tells PEOPLE exclusively. "I feel like I was fired." " They grabbed just the last part of that for their cover. These days, I think People is just one step up from tabloids and, in my opinion, they frequently embellish to make things sound outrageous. ABC News reported : At her peak, she weighed 300 pounds, and she's only 5 feet 5 inches.
According to things I can find on the web, she has lost 150 pounds, which puts her at 150 pounds now. That is STILL considered overweight (by BMI) at 5'5". The highest weight you can be in the "healthy" range at 5'5" is 144.
A part of me is probably reacting to my own disgust with how the general public seems to feel that everything a celebrity does should be totally public and has nothing to do with Star herself. I don't particularly care for Star, but I'm not sure she deserves the public lashing she is getting.
