There was a fraternity called Kappa Kappa Kappa. They were founded before the civil war. The KKK wasn't founded until afterward. When the KKK started to gain populatiry/noterity in the northeast (where most of the kappa kappa kappa chapters were) they changed there name. I read that i think in Bairds.
They aren't connected to tthe kkk though.
