Have you heard about the old "Squeaky Wheel" theory?

While this may be considered a small hijack, I think that this woman is one of the reasons for the phenomonon, so...

I don't remember many details, but heard on NPR about a new group formed by a number of present and former politicians and high ranking government officials from both parties.

The purpose is to try to move the political process away from the far right and far left. The contention is that the most radical voices on both sides are the ones that are by far the most heard -- by the party bosses and the electorate -- so the perception is that the voting public is split between the rank and file "average" Republicans and Democrats much more than is actually true.

There was a lot of talk after the last election about most of the voters not being either "Red" or "Blue," but rather somewhere in the "Purple" range.

I believe that. I would like to see politics move more toward the center and away from the strident dischord that we are bombarded with continually.

A little moderation from both sides would get more done, I think.

Just my opinion.
