Recruitment is definitely not as competitive as it is at some of the larger state schools. Recs are a good idea, although some chapters don't use them, there are other chapters that rely on them heavily.
She said that quota additions are common and if a young woman goes all the way through the process, maximizing all her options, her chances of placement in a chapter are VERY high.
