I think what people aren't seeing is that petite sizes, when available, are designed proportionately smaller. Usually buttons are smaller, stripes might be closer together, etc, etc...Short people would rather be able to buy things that proportionately fit them rather than buy something that is a "regular" size and then have to spend half+ of what they did purchasing the outfit in alterations. In any case, what's the point of buying the outfit if you have to cut it, shrink it and change the button sizes?
