LUFKIN, Texas -- A friend of mine told me this story the other day. An employee told him, and she heard it at the bank. All three people believed it to be true, because that's how it was related to them:
A mother and her five-year-old daughter were in a Lufkin store. I won't say which one. The mother turned around, and the child had disappeared. The mother wisely went to the front of the store and told the manager, who promptly locked the doors. They began to frantically search for the little girl. Finally they searched the bathroom . They found the girl with her head shaved, wearing a completely different set of clothes than she had originally worn. Luckily, she was unharmed, except for the shaved head.
The assumption was that someone was attempting to kidnap the girl by changing her appearance and then planned to spirit her out of the store."
