Question Self-Defense

This week, I took I self-defense class at my gym. The instructors were really good and they showed us the easiest manuevers (sp?) to use if you are ever attacked. Well, when I got home, I was so hyped about what I had learned, that I forced my boyfriend to attack me. Needless to say, some of those moves are much easier said than done. After a few times of being attacked, I started to get the hang of it.

But, now that I know what to do, I am not sure that I would remember to do them if I was attacked. I cannot honestly say that I would do if I was attacked because I don't know what my reaction would be. That's such a scary moment, who knows what I would do. I am confident that I would fight back by doing anything that I had to, but I'm not sure if that would be effective.

I did see on Oprah a few years ago about a self-defense course in which the women take the classroom course for a few weeks. For the "final exam," they agree to be attacked. They don't know when and where, they just know that it is going to happen. I would be interested in doing something like this.

Do you feel confident that if you were attacked that you would be able to defend yourself??
