how is this "different" from the US?
we (and many other countries) have just as long and complicated and certainly more expensive of a process to*legally* immigrate or work here
i don't see a difference other than i get the impression that for some people, the thought of this process is overwhelming, completely out of their means, or just not worth the effort even if they get caught being here illegally...
