The title itself affected me negatively because, as DSTCHAOS mentioned, the phrase 'race card' is ridiculous. But I feel personally about the situation because it involves my alma mater.
Granted, I will admit that I didn't follow Gamecock football as extensively as others do while I was a student, but I still stand firm in my belief that this game is going to draw a large amount of spectators.
I'm tired of grown people playing the "I am right, you are wrong" game like children. What is so hard about listening to what other people have to say, trying to gain an understanding of why they feel the way they feel, and discussing it like adults?
Why not try to understand WHY Ford feels SC State should be allotted more tickets? After reading some of these posts, I can see why some people believe that State shouldn't get more tickets. I UNDERSTAND the counter-argument, and I respect their stance. It doesn't really change my stance, but I can respect what others are saying.
Why can't some of you do the same thing? What's the problem?
Step out of your bubbles and realize that there's a whole world out there filled with people who have opinions that are diverse and might not be the same as yours.

I understand why Ford feels the way he does...but when I first read the article it seemed to me that he was accusing USC of treating SC State unfairly because State is a HBC...he also made it seem by his words that SC State would only be able to have 2000 fans there. In reality SC State is recieving twice as many free tickets than other similarly situated (other instate Div-IAA schools). They are getting the same number of tickets alloted to them as every other Div-IAA school (with the exception of the Citadel in 2009 I believe but that contract was negotiated by a different Athletic Director). There will also be more than ample opprotunities for SC State fans to get tickets outside the stadium before the game, especially since I still do not think this game will generate huge interest from a lot of USC season ticket holders.
