Before you go off and start planning something it would be wise to evaluate the success and/or failure of the philanthropies of other greek houses so you wouldn't fall in their footsteps. You need to establish clear goals and develop a mission to use when approaching others with the idea. You may want to focus your efforts on an event such as Dance Marathon, which is already highly successful and well established. This will open up time for your chapter to hold more service projects within the community, and have greater participation in the philanthropies of other greeks.
