Go to John's office. I am sure he is just swamped himself.
Pop in say a friendly HI and just let him know you're checking in on the status of things, wanted to know if there is anything you can help with, and let him know you'd like to hold rush as a local next quarter if possible and are there any university guidelines, etc you need to be aware of.
