Journalism school
if you re-read my acrid comments about journalism students, I
ended by saying "be selective."
My assessment stands, many J students are angry and on a crusade, often sent to some small town to begin, and there they
try to be 'investigative.'
I was raised in a back shop, ran a Mergenthaler, Kelly, Twin Model A Duplex, jobber, and carrier. My folks were newspaper
folks, my wife was a major metro area foods editor, so I have no
axe to grind. J students, still, make poor alums in my opinion.
There are some charming politicians, but then we have our pork
guys (Byrd, a TKE) and sleaze bags (Clinton, boy scout fraternity
and band boy) et al. In the final analysis, be selective on who
you pick...but you are the ultimate chooser.
