Being a DePauw student, this is all quite interesting (and important) to me.

The Fact Finding commission was started for a few reasons. This past year, one house wasn't allowed to initiate it's new members due to hazing violations, another house now has a representative from nationals living in the house due to hazing violations from last year, one house is going under investigation from nationals, another house's president got arrested for driving the wrong way on a one-way while intoxicated. At DePauw, it's almost become a norm anymore for a house to get busted for hazing violations during a school year.

As far as Firehouse's comments are concerned:
1) The administration/trustees are conservative if anything.
2) I don't know either way on this one.
3) On a grand scale, you're right, but this is pretty bad stuff as far as DePauw is concerned.
4) The Commission has two house ex-presidents, one NPHC greek, and one independent, and one other IFC greek.

33girl is pretty much right in her assessment...the trustees are heavily greek.

That being said, Firehouse's comments aren't all bunk, as the campus climate has become worse as far as risk management concerned and it's not completely asinine to say that one more bad incident could tip the scales concerning the further existence of the greek system at DePauw.

AFAIK, Bob Bottoms is Greek, although I may be wrong.

Rudey's statement that "That campus has had a lot of incidents which can either be called "Boys being boys" or trouble waiting to happen." is right on the money from my opinion, although the house I'm in at DePauw (just look at my signtaure) isn't really the norm for DePauw fraternities.
