If you thought I was defining "tacky" for you, then I suggest you find a dictionary and really look it up. "Not popular on that campus" is NOT a good definition of tacky.
I was giving my opinion as to why THEY thought it was tacky, which was your question. If I really thought you needed a definition I would have pointed you to dictionary.com.
