It's probably "tacky" meaning, not popular on that campus. Some people think that the lettered tote bags are tacky, because that's not what they do on their campus. I personally think the lettered butt shorts are tacky, but I think all but one sorority had rules against them on my campus - no sitting on your letters. But hey, that might work on KU's campus - your prof can't see your letters if you're sitting on them.
