That seems a little ridiculous. As to the point someone made about professors likely being greek, that in my experience is extremely rare. Quite the opposite, I imagine most in academia were the ones against greek life. Also, at least around here, greeks tend to seek out more "real world" employment, like being an attorney, CPA, engineer, etc.
As to the point regarding the sweatshirts and hoodies with the big letters on them, we don't wear them here either. We don't have an official rule, but everyone on campus knows not to do it, I think its pretty tacky.
