Low numbers are a constant problem for Black, Latino, and some Asian greeks at PWIs. It's an unfortunate reality. I have a friend who is an Alpha who was the only member of his chapter for two years, ran for Student Government President, had the highest GPA on campus, and brought in a line of two his senior spring. So, while this is commendable (this individual from LAU), it's definitely not uncommon. The majority just don't know about it.
My friends in Delta were tabling the other day, and one person came up (wearing letters) and asked them what DST was. They replied that it was a service oriented sorority, etc. She asked if they were new at GW, and they replied that the sorority had been on campus for 31 years. People never cease to amaze me.
