Dang! He didn't pick the song from Deltas Demand the Dynasty!!
Jigga’s own mini-version of “Hip-Hop Idol” ended last week after he chose the new theme song for the New Jersey Nets. Coming from Manhattan’s Michael ‘M Bars’ Barnes, "Going Hard" apparently captures the energy that Shawn 'Jay Z' Carter and his people were looking for.
"In 'Going Hard' M Bars completely captured the intensity of Nets Basketball and the flavor of our game experience," Carter said in a statement. "He obviously put a lot of time into the song and demonstrated a lot of talent. We're a hot team and this song best matches our passion and energy."
As his reward, Barnes will get to perform the song during halftime of the Nets game against the Knicks on April 19. Barnes will also get it to kick it with Jay-Z and record the song professionally at Baseline Studios.
"I'm a huge Nets fan and Jay-Z is my idol so I wanted to make this song really stand out," M Bars said in a statement. "It's such an honor to be recognized by Jay-Z and I can't wait to perform at the game."
