I still absolutely believe that Snape is not completely evil. I really think that DD knew everything- about the unbreakable vow and that Snape was going to have to kill him. And that Snape has still been a double-agent. After all (as someone in those forums pointed out) at the end of book 6, when the Death Eaters were running away, he could easily have grabbed Harry and taken him directly to Voldemort. But, he didn't. I think that says something.
But, I have yet to be convinced that DD is still alive somehow. I think it makes SO much sense that Harry has to go down this last path WITHOUT his help. Think about it- Harry is about to become an adult (at the beginning of book 7). It is time for him to stand on his own 2 feet. Of course, he will have his friends right by his side, but this time HE has to do the work. I see it as a HUGE transition that he has to make to become a man.
And I just don't think it would make sense for JKR to go through all of that and then just say, "Oh- my bad. DD only 'appeared' dead." I guess I think it would make for a weak ending.
Wow, I sound very heated in all of these posts... I promise I'm not!!! Haha.
