Character. This is why I think it's important to get to know candidates, on a personal level, for yourself. That way, you KNOW what type of PERSON this young lady is. You get to know her strengths, her weaknesses, how she reacts in certain situations. How does she carry herself?

Academics... how does she rate them? Is it one of her priorities? What are her study habits?

Work ethic? Is she involved in campus and community? Doing what? Does she have a job? How often does she work? What is her schedule like? Will she have TIME for the sisterhood?

Her future? What are her goals? What are her visions? What is her plan?

Previous interest in another organization? Was she ever interested in another org? Why did she change her mind? Even worse, was she ever on line (for lack of a better phrase) for another org?

Her motive? Why is she interested in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.? How long has she been interested? Tying to the previous passage, does she want 20 Pearls or whatever Greek letters she can get?

Can she keep her mouth shut? NO BLABBERMOUTHS ALLOWED!! If she is the campus/city gossip, I wouldn't want her. I need to know that the candidate can engage in conversation and keep the conversation to herself.
