our national GPA is a 2.5. Our chapter goal is a 2.75.
If your cummulative goes below a 2.5, you go on academic probation. You have ONE SEMESTER to bring it back to a 2.5 otherwise your membership is suspended. You CAN appeal once your grade is back where it needs to be though.
In my chapter, if you semester GPA is below a 2.5, but your cummulative is still okay, then you are strongly encouraged to do a minimum of 8 study hours per week.
we also have academic incentives. Like for one, the Georgia HOPE scholarship. Most of our girls try to keep a 3.0 anyway, because the state of GA pays your tuition if youre a resident. We also have the "Smarty" tee - which is when the sister with the highest SEMESTER GPA gets a tshirt with letters and the word "Smarty" on the back. It's liek bragging rights, and its alot of fun, too.
