#1. Non-Greeks normally see Greeks doing service when 'they themselves' are also doing service or are in the same organizations/at the same causes (breast cancer awareness/walks, tutoring, helping Katrina victims, etc).

Those non-Greeks that aren't service oriented at school won't see those things and might assume they're not taking place. It's also on the Greeks to promote the service as if it was a party (even though, Bibically.. you're not supposed to really 'big up' yourself when doing service.. but that's neither here nor there for this thread).
I do attend the service events that the greek organizations attend, or even put on themselves...not to put my face out there for those organizations, but because I have been service oriented since i was young being affiliated back then and now with groups such as the Order of Eastern Stars PHA, Girls' Assembly, Daughter of Isis, and etc., you get the opportunity to do those things. So there are ppl who DO see these organizations doing their services and DO volunteer THEIR time for the cause to help them such as myself. Bt I understand what you are saying, that most of the time "non greeks" dont see EVERYTHING...but you have to look at it from the outside in, if the majority of the time the outside see drama and chaos within these organizations, what do you expect "US" to think??
