At the movies this week, it’s Inside Man with Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster and Clive Owen. The movie was directed by Spike Lee. Lee went in a different direction for this movie. Inside Man is not your typical “Spike Lee Joint.” The movie is about a bank robbery, and Denzel plays a hostage negotiator. The movie will remind you of the 70’s classic, Dog Day Afternoon with Al Pacino, lots of twists and turns.
What’s going on with Singer Isaac Hayes, and why are his people lying to the public? Hayes has been very sick. Back in January, it was reported that he was being hospitalized for exhaustion. This was a lie. He suffered a stroke. Yes, a stroke! It was considered a mild stroke, but it affected his speech and memory. Last week, a statement was issued regarding his status with the Comedy Central show South Park. Hayes provided the voice of the character “Chef.” The statement said Hayes would not be returning to voice the character because he was uncomfortable with the way the show mocked religion, including his Scientology. Isaac Hayes did not make this statement. He can’t talk because of the stroke! He is currently in therapy trying to regain his speech. Why would his publicist lie to the public? Why the secrecy? What is going on? How could his family let this happen? Is Isaac Hayes in his right frame of mind? Does he realize what is going on? Obviously, people are taking advantage of him.
Dr. Phil and Oprah are still feuding. Dr. Phil feels Oprah’s show is getting too out of touch and “hoity toity.” Oprah feels Dr. Phil’s ego is getting out of control, and that he’s not appreciating all she’s done for him and his career.
Singer King Floyd has died. The 61-year old Singer/Songwriter was best known for the 1971 hit Groove Me.
Top plastic surgeons are urging Actress Vivica A. Fox to get rid of her current breast implants. The right breast is deflated, and you can see it when she wears low cut gowns. Doctors recommend that she get smaller implants.
Tyler Perry is headed back to the big screen. Filming starts in June on his new movie Daddy’s Little Girl. The movie is about a successful lawyer who falls in love with a janitor who has three daughters. Tyler also has a new book coming out next month, Don’t Make a Black Woman Take off Her Earrings. It’s Madea’s book of wisdom on love and life.
Keith Washington and Meli’sa Morgan will be starring in The Life Story of Marvin Gaye. This play is coming to the Liacouras Center, May 24th through the 28th.
Actress Kerry Washington (Ray, She Hate Me) has been named the newest face of L’Oreal Paris. Washington will join a list of beauties for the cosmetic line including Beyonce, Eva Longoria and Jennifer Lopez.
Later this year, look for Queen Latifah and Destiny’s Child to get the royal treatment in Hollywood. They’re all scheduled to receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The wedding is back on for Actress Lisa Raye McCoy and the Prime Minister of Turks and Cacaos, Michael Misick. They were supposed to get married last year, but due to circumstances beyond their control, the nuptials had to be postponed. Lisa was not about to get her face cracked. This wedding was going to happen! Rumor has it Misick was a serial engager. He proposed to Lisa Raye soon after meeting her. Lisa Raye is nobody’s fool. She is through with dating. She wants to settle down and be the first lady. The wedding is set to take place on April 8th. Let’s hope for his sake there will be no more delays.
Now speaking of weddings, what’s up with Jermaine Dupri and Janet Jackson? First, Janet is working on losing weight. She has about 30 more pounds to go as she struggles to take off the 60 pounds she gained over the past couple of years. Plus, she needs a hit album to get her career back on track. And, if Jermaine can make it happen (he’s helping to produce her new album project), he could wind up as her third husband. At least he’s got money. The first two were broke.
Motherhood is great! This is the exciting news coming from Actress Angela Bassett and her husband Actor Courtney Vance. For years, they tried to conceive on their own. After many disappointments, they decided to have a surrogate mother step in. Earlier this year, Angela and her husband became the proud parents of twins. They are on top of the world with their bundles of joy.
Jamie Foxx has a hot new love. Foxx, 38, is romancing 24-year old Actress Meagan Goode. In published pictures, the two appeared very cozy, like they just rolled out of bed. I wonder what happened with Actress Victoria Rowell (“Drucilla” of The Young & The Restless). Just last month, he was romancing her. And, before her, there was Actress Gabrielle Union. I guess if you’re an Actress, step up to the plate and let the Foxx check you out! (smile)
Della Reese is coming out with a plus size clothing line. The 74 year-old actress is set to debut the Della Reese Clothing Line, April 4th on the Home Shopping Network.
Rapper/Actor Treach of Naughty by Nature is set to join the cast of the HBO hit series The Sopranos later this year.
T.O. is ready to tell all. Former Eagle Terrell Owens, now a Dallas Cowboy, is coming out with a new book in July about life as an Eagle. Sources say the book, Ineligible Receiver: The Real Story of My Journey from The Superbowl to the Sidelines, is an honest account of life in the NFL. I’m sure this book will point out everything Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb don’t want to hear.

She tries to be down to earth and likable, but her assistants are rude and nasty. They are making it hard for her, and certain people have vowed they will never work with her again. They do not want to be bothered with her, even though she’s married to a very powerful man.
This female is tired of being a sugar mama. Her husband is living off of her. As soon as they hooked up, he quit his job. He spends his days getting ready for the parties they attend. He rarely shows any interest in her. She is doing everything to make him notice and desire her. She recently had a tummy tuck and breast lift. Why won’t he pay her any attention?
