1) Would each room have it's own phone line, or would everyone share a line in a common room?
Each room has a phone and there are at least 2 main lines for the house, another for the housemother and another for the president.
2) Do your houses have curfews?
There is a time at which the alarm is set and the security guard makes his rounds, but no set curfew.
3) Are guests allowed to stay over (non sorority members), if so where do they stay? Yes, ususally in empty rooms (if any are available).
4) Are guys allowed to stay over?No men allowed above the main floor and all men must be out of the house by 11 PM.
5) Can individual rooms get cable, or is there usually a TV room?
Main TV room with cable and VCR, plus at least one other TV in a common area available.
If you can think of any other interesting points about sorority houses, let me know...I'm realizing as I'm writing my series that I know nothing about how they operate lol.
NPC houses usually have live-in Housemother/directors, there is no alcohol allowed in the house. At the local ZTA House, all meals are buffet except for 2-3 nights a week when there are sit-down meals with servers. Breakfast and lunch only on Sunday, dinner is on your own. I think that's the case for Saturday, too.
Our local house is unusual in that we provide laundry facilities for free for our members and we provide a paid security guard for the 'graveyard' hours.
