I don't really remember what we did at Western Illinois when I was an undergrad; I know all the sororities had to wear the panhellenic shirt with our letters on it for the first round parties, and I think the rush counselors got shirts with "PX" on them.
At Eastern Illinois, the big thing is sorority windbreakers. Every sorority has their own color schemes (i.e., Tri Delta has black jackets with hot pink letters, Alpha Phi has purple jackets with white letters, Delta Zeta has navy jackets with white letters, etc). If it's too hot to wear them, they tie them around their waists so their letters are across their rears. The Rho Gammas get white jackets with pink letters Rho and Gamma, and also get a white tee shirt with pink letters Rho and Gamma as well. They're really cute, and help promote recruitment.
