I think she should at least check it out, but I don't know what these personal problems are. If they're severe enough to switch schools then maybe it would be better for her to take alumna status so she can deal with her personal issues?
Every chapter is different, so maybe she will find a supportive group of girls at her new school, but who knows. You know her and we don't, so I think your advice might be more useful than ours.
