While losing mass amounts of weight rapidly may be bad for your health, I'd be willing to bet that being obese is far worse for overall health. People who have their stomachs reduced lose TONS of weight all at once and are better off for it (even though they're left with lots of extra skin, which is just a result of them stretching it out with their excess weight gain).

yeah...but keep in mind that these are just teenagers, so it's not like they're going to be focused on that the entire time. Really more than anything this was just a regular summer camp that just HAPPENED to promote healthier eating(which honestly, i don't know how "healthy" it really was) and gave fat kids a chance to be around others like them.
I think we just need to remember that the weight took a long time to pile on, so it's just not going to "fall off", despite working hard!
