I am the Social Chair of my sorority and on my campus the NPC is very strict about following the third Party vendor rule. There are no mixers aloud in Fraternity houses. This is done to cut back on underage drinking and to make a mixer safer! Well, in my opinion it does neither! People still drink underage and if the bar doesn't let them there is a little thing called pre-gaming! So now the saftey factor, 200 drunk people off campus half of which are underage stumbling home through the city, not to safe if you ask me! I am sorry cabs take for ever in this city and buses stop running, so what is left your own two feet! Plus the fact that third party vendors cost way too much! Then what happens is only the "big" houses on campus mix and there are sororities that left out and feel dumped on. If you ask me the third party vendor rule is ruining our campus' greek life!
I have a question how many other campus' have that rule? And, if you have it do you like it?
